A McDonald's worker has shared some tips on what to do and what to avoid when ordering at the fast food giant.
The insider, who works at a branch in Essex, said that a machine which makes ice isn't cleaned "as often as it should be".
And he claimed that staff are told to make a fresh batch of fries each time a customer requests them without salt.
And the worker encouraged diners not to order milkshake - claiming the mix is the same as the company's ice cream.
same as the company's ice cream.
Among the tips he offered, according to The Sun, were:
- Order food at times when the menu changes - just after 8am, 10am, noon, 2pm, 5pm and 7pm
- Ask for chips without salt in order to get a fresh batch
- Don't order milkshake
- Avoid ordering ice in your drinks
Offering his advice, the staff member said: “Order your chips without any salt because then we have to make a fresh batch of fries."
And he claimed milkshakes come from a white liquid which is poured into a machine.
He said: "I just don’t see the point in paying for one or the other when they are literally made from the same thing."
Mirror Online has contacted McDonald's for a comment.
A company spokesman told The Sun: "We encourage all of our crew to speak up if they have any concerns, offering formal and informal channels for issues to be raised.”
